You Must Play Façade, Now!, that the second or third great reviews I read. People really have to try it.

Imagine uox3 NPCs react with emtions.

And with facial expressions? :) But yes, I have imagined UOX3 NPCs having a wider aspect of emotions for many years now. Like letting the NPCs have "moods" and react to player actions depending on those moods, as well as having the moods change based on some "needs" that could be met. And some other stuff =)

That game being reviewed is very interesting, as it shows that not everything has been done yet, and that development of interesting AI hasn't necessarily always gone in the correct directions earlier.
