Newbie pants/shirts/shoes takes presedence over specific starting equipment

Post by Xuri »

Currently the newbie pants/shirts/shoes are added before any skill-specific starting equipment (from newbie.dfn) is added to the character. This means that any attempt to equip armor or other clothing articles in those locations will fail and it will instead get added to the backpack.

Perhaps not a major issue, but still one I'd like to see fixed. One possible way of doing it would be to add the skill-specific starting equipment first and then get UOX3 to check if anything exists in those layers before adding the newbie pants/shirts/shoes.

Ok, I've given scripted newbie items precedence over default clothing.

Didn't notice this until now, but apparently, newbie pants, shirts and shoes now appear on the ground below the newly created character if scripted items take precedence :)
