Make Menu's

Post by Kiff »

There are quite a few things in the make menu's, particularily I noticed the combined carpentry/tailoring menu's that have (n/a) beside them. I'd like to see those put in.

Also the different ores, but that's a much bigger job I'd imagine since they'd have to have stats made for them and such.

Until they get the ore system to work, there is a trick that will let you use colored ores.

It was buried in a "boat bug" thread, so you might have missed it.

Open uox3\dfndata\skill\skills.dfn and scroll to the bottom, then change all MAKEMENU values to 1. That should let you use the same menu for all the other ores as for iron. I think.
This hack treats all colored ore as iron ore. You don't any of the cool properties of colored ore, but at LEAST your smiths can use the ore they have.

Enjoy!

(Oh, colored armor and stuff is already implemented via .dfn. It *shouldn't* be too hard for someone to edit the scripts so colored ore can create colored armor. As for "colored" property weapons, that might be more time consuming then it is worth.

Perhaphs a quick fix would be to allow the creation of colored armor, but treat all created weapons as iron weapons. This would involve no changing to the .dfn files, and may be quickly coded. )

Yeah I don't care for coloured weps myself, but coloured armour seems like a good reason for people to become better at smithing. Thanks stranf for the heads up on how to let them use the ore as iron.
