Taking Damage at Login?
I noticed when I logged on a moment ago to test something a little "2" float from my head. Sure enough I had 98/100 hp. Now I'm aware this is coming from the packet we send when we take damage during combat, but I'm not quite sure why I'm seeing it at login (notably I'm not in comat when I log in). I've never noticed this before.
Any thoughts?

Is your HUNGERDMGVAL set to 2 and was your char probably starving?giwo wrote:I noticed when I logged on a moment ago to test something a little "2" float from my head. Sure enough I had 98/100 hp. Btw. the CCHar::Damage() function now sends this packet as it is IHMO a more logical place, this way we don't have to add it into every code part where a user might take damage.

I think if the char gets damaged or does damage the user should be aware of it, and of how much damage it was. That's better than dropping dead because you didn't know that you were taking damage.giwo wrote:I was under the impression that that specific packet was meant only for combat damage, but as I think hunger damage is exclusive to UOX3 anyhow, I suppose all damage on OSI IS combat damage.
I believe so. Sometimes I am so caught up in the action/roleplaying that I never heed the small messgaes in the corner: "you are getting hungry".
As soon as I see that little "2" flash above my head, I immediatly head for the nearest tavern.
. I like the "bug" at anyrate.
I'll probably increase the damage value on my shard, as it currently stands is more of an annoyance than any real concern. You heal the two points of damage WELL before you take it again. I'll probably kick it up to 5 or 7, and that should get more of my players attention.
