Global Variable, or OnDeathBlow error in 3.6b.

Post by stranf »

Does anyone have Giwo's taskmaster script installed?

Can they verify it works with 3.6b?

I accepted a task of slaying 6 ettins. After killing about 9 (to be on the safe side) I went back to the master to gain my reward.

He claimed "You must kill 6 more ettins"

My guess is my global variable script or the OnDeathBlow script isn't firing correctly since the update to 3.6b (and maybe as far back as 3.5q when I noticed I wouldn't get counted for slaying gargoyles). Most the ettins were felled with a bow, if that makes a difference.

There could be multiple ID's for ettins, thus causing it not to count the ones you killed.

Correct, there are two IDs for ettins - 0x2 and 0x12. The script only checks for the 0x2 variant, which is the ettin without a giant club in his hands. :)

Maybe we should give creatures slightly different names when they exists with different IDs. Something like "ettin" and "strong ettin" or "club ettin".

Yes, that makes it more clear that those are two different creature types.
