Except they forgot to hook up the power and data cable on the DVD drive. Oopsie?

Power's on, and wheeee ... we have a green light! XP64's pretty swift so far ... I'm surfing the net in 64 bit glory!
Unfortunately, I cannot take an image of my disk yet. TrueImage isn't recognising the chipset/drives, so ... can't back it up. So tomorrow non-work will be tracking down all these fun fun things ...
But it's on! And it glows blue! Much joy!

OK, my new box is mostly up and running, and got all the apps installed. It's definitely swifter. A base QT compile on my old box (P4 2.2, 1GB RAM) took 2 hours 20 minutes. My new box took 50 minutes, while I was also defragging a RAID1 volume at the time
Now I just need to track down my UO install downloads, and hopefully I'll be up and running and testing again in the next few days.
Party on!

*shakes head solemnly* Too true, my friend, too true.
I find myself being much more productive now with work, which is such a double edged sword ... great because I look better, worse because I get paid by the hour
I think I've managed to track down my downloads properly, so with any luck *fingers crossed* I'll get an install happening today, and I should be up and running a server by the end of the weekend for my own internal testing.
But it brings a few things to mind ... I'll be looking at the QT stuff. I finally have .NET Framework 2 installed, so I can look at your tool giwo
And the fact I now have a second processor means I can look into threading a bit too. But I suppose, before I bite off more than I can chew, that I should finish the things I've already started

Logical progression states that threading may be the last thing you want to look at, as a switch to QT4 would certainly change that functionality in UOX3 (at least assuming we were to use its threading capabilities).
Anyhow, glad to hear the setup is going well, and look forward to feedback on what I've put out so far.

Yup, it wasn't so much threading specifics as threading models I'd want to look at, determine what sort of patterns tend to be the most effective/scalable sort of thing.
As for feedback, mate, you've been doing a hell of a lot more for a long time than I have, and from what I've been able to see, squishing a damn large number of bugs. I'd expect that my future submissions would need to meet YOUR approval
