gump driven moongates
gump driven moongates
Hi,
I was told on the irc channel that by default the mongates were gump driven,
but since I added the wordlfile the moongates aren't working any more, well they work but with the moon phase and no gump is there.
I tried to use a command "setscptrig 5011" then it would show gump but the gump doesn't work correctly the gate tosses me back a tile and the gump says you are too far from the gate to use that.
kinda lost here any ideas?

Why is there air?
Maybe if some one could provide a world file that has moongates that work with the gump, as that my shard is very new with no changes to what the default worldfile has in it and only one account right now I will lose very little.
I located a js file that is called moongate if this file is my issue, Could I replace it with one tht would work correctly
I'm not really software orientated, I'm hardware tech, but I can do most things. I just don't have the programming knowledge
thanks again

Well I’m not trying to make a new moongate, just trying to get the city gates to work with a gump so I haven't tried that.
But, I did find a thread on these boards that described my issue.
viewtopic.php?t=343&highlight=moongate
It said something about that in teleporter.scp it is hard coded to work the old way
And to remove that and use the JavaScript provided.
Ok that sounds great to me
Next question is how do you disable the old script and enable the new JavaScript?
I looked over the js provided in the thread and it provides a gump that will give all destinations in Fel, Tram, and Ilsh
But Malas and Tokuno aren’t there.
No problem they weren't around when it was written
Like I said before I'm not real good at coding in fact I have never coded anything. Could some one here add the needed code to that .js to provide for Malas and Tokuno and tell me how to implement it?
then I would be happy with my shard because everything I have looked at would be working
I want to say again that I'm amazed at how well this server emulator works and how easy it was to setup. you people are doing a great job in fact more than great this is really fantastic

Note that the names for the facets in the moongate script are reversed. Trammel is the world which gives you a yellow mouse cursor (world 1), Felucca is the one without (world 0).
As of the few latest UO patches, make sure that your maps.dfn file (DFNDATA\MAPS\maps.dfn) contains map1.mul, staidx1.mul and statics1.mul for Trammel, since it now has it's own set of files.
If I knew the proper locations for moongates in Malas and Tokuno I'd add them, but I don't

here are the coords that you requested
I believe they are correct
Tokuno Islands
Isamu~Jima 1169 , 998 , 42 , 4
Makoto~Jima 801 , 1204 , 25 , 4
Homare~Jima 270 , 628 , 15 , 4
Malas
new Luna 1015 , 527 , -65 , 3
old Luna 1054 , 358, -86, 3 unused on ea production shards
Umbra 1997 , 1386, -85 , 3 this gate is black
If these could be added to the moongate.js I would be very happy
The only other thing I noticed is that teh moon gate image does not show in fel and ilsh I will have to put a image at the proper locations but that is not a real issue

Alright, I've now updated the moongate.js on the CVS with teleport locations for both Malas and Tokuno Islands. Additionally, I've added some configurationable options at the top of the script, where you can pick and choose which teleport locations you want to show up when players use the moongate. You can for instance have it only show Trammel locations, or only Malas locations, or only .. etc.
Here's a temporary download for you: moongate.js (RARed)
Btw, don't give up so easily on IRC!
Stick around for a little while longer - I checked the channel right after you left =P
