This is a very complex situation using various other 3 party software.

I got it to work, but it was awhile ago, and as I recall took a lot of trial and error. Sorry if I can't help you, but I can point you in the direction of the UO MUL file editing community.

Basically you have to "hardcode" the art to a gump using a MUL editor. Then you have to either give EVERY client the proper MUL file, or create patches for them to use. THEN if you update UO from OSI, there is no guarantee that they won't overwrite you're hard worked patch.

Basically this is the reason I am sticking with 5.0.1i client, unless UO patches to something super cool and/or UOx3 will refuse to work on 5.0.1i.

Basically, here is the forum post that I made to have the pro's teach me how to make an unwearable sword item art, wearable, and use a SWEET 2d-client sword GUMP that has been abandoned:

And I did get it to work.

Hope this helps!

PS: I just rememberd, AFTER you create you're .mul files and patch files, you must tell UO through the body.def file that the new art uses such and such a gump. Go ahead and read about how to do it in Ryandor, and feel free to join them there and/or keep posting about it here.
