I need help!

Post by pphoenixx »

I've been running my own server for a long time now...
Everything was going great.
Somewhere down the line something got corrupted or something.
Which made it so I couldn't see anything in my backpack anymore.

So, I reinstalled the UO client 6.0.4.0 I reinstalled the experimental 6 from this forum,

Disclaimer:
The builds postet here are directly from the CVS, they are highly experimental and there is a good posibility that they mess up your worldfiles! So backup your UOX3 data before running an experimental build!

Current experimental build version: 0.98-3.7q-experimental6

Download

Only this time the file still says 0.98-3.7h Not q it now says h
Is it supposed to be that?
Anyways... Now I can't put anything into my backpack, & the game crashes every time I take a few steps...
Anyone help me out?

Could someone give me a link to a working client, & a UOX3 Server that runs good?

Boardmail me your email address.

I'll send you an image file of my current server.

This could be a corrupted worldsave, or another packet change in the recent UO clients.

Try this: Create a new Char, if you can see the contents of it's backpack then the worldsave seems to be corruptet. If not it's most likely a packet change.

I can't check it myself, because I'm currently quite a bit away from my development machine.

I did make a new character. I still couldn't see anything in my backpack.
Also, I can't move more than a few steps before the game frezes...

Reinstall the client and abort Patching when the client version reaches 6.0.0.0 or 6.0.2.0, then try it. Sounds like there have been packet changes in the later versions.

Do you have a Download place I could get the client from?
I just want to get the right one...

No, I can not provide you with client files. That would be against the law. Just download the client from an official page, run the patch process and abort the patching once you reach a version around 6.0.0.0.

or just use your UO CD. UOx3 works with older versions of the client nicely. None of my players have patched past 5.0.1i. Safer that way.

True, stranf. I haven't even been able to log in with the latest version of the UO client yet. Some packet-changes are probably to blame, as Grimson says.
